oddeties :)

just some more observances of the land down under i think are interesting.

-my door knob, and most doors with door knobs, are at the level of my shoulder.
-mcdonnalds = mackers, and they all have mccafe's that have comfy seats
-most houses in this town and many others are on stilts
-the aussies think i'm funny when i say "banana" or "berry" and think i overuse the words delicious and delectable (well we do talk about food a lot)
-PBJs are something aussies think are just odd
-rum and coke comes in pre-mixed cans and bottles, and bundy rum is awesome
-the week after HS graduation is when everyone goes on a trip and is known as "schoolies" (lots of drinking)
-there is no music programme at james cook
-i'm starting to spell things the british way :P
-american jelly = australian jam
-american jello = australian jelly
-american katsup = australian tomato sauce
-i'm getting some aussies to say jello and katsup :P
-the australian government gives students allowance - some people get over $700 a fortnight
-there is a lot of american television out here
-pies here are usually meat pies, not dessert
-instead of corn crops they have sugar cane crops
-they like full moon festivals

thats it for now, i'll add to this list at some point :)

we couldn't find the bowling alley last night so julie and kate and i just walked up and down the strand and then watched grey's anatomy untill 3am because the last three episodes of the season are OMGZZZ we couldn't stop. off to the beach with alysha today :)
